The AP-710 reproduces the subtle differences between high-end pianos. For this project, Casio specially selected three major pianos produced in Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna, and made efforts to study and analyze the unique colors and personalities of each type of piano. Finally, the AP-710 reproduced the beautiful sound effects of these pianos through Casio's advanced technology.
Joint development of timbre with Bechstein piano
When it comes to the piano of C. Bechstein, French composer Asier Claude Debussy once said, "Piano music is only written for Bechstein. The history of the Bechstein piano began in 1853 when Karl Bechstein founded a company in Berlin. Now, CASIO and this famous piano manufacturing company have jointly developed the "Berlin Triangle Piano" timbre, which is a uniform, elegant, and clear timbre. In order to make the timbre and vibration sound delicate and clear, we analyzed the timbre of Bechstein's ultimate masterpiece D282. The sound developed from this has even been recognized by the Bechstein piano master Werner Albrecht and has been included in CELVIANO AP-710, known as the "Berlin Triangle Piano".
Keyboard system
The natural playing touch is very close to the sturdy and stable touch of the grand piano, unconsciously blending the performer with the music being played.
The second-generation three sensor progressive counterweight keyboard produces sound with precision like a grand piano
The difference in sound structure between a grand piano and a digital piano lies in their different sound production times, that is, the time difference between the moment the keys are played and the moment the sound is heard. The new second-generation 3-sensor progressive hammer string structure keyboard can continuously detect the movement of keys through the cooperation of a three-sensor system.
Imitation sandalwood and ivory keys provide a comfortable fingertip fit and feel, allowing you to play effortlessly and freely
It adopts a unique style and texture like a grand piano, and has a white ivory sandalwood style keyboard that makes fingers feel smooth. The texture processing on the surface of the piano keys not only suppresses sliding caused by sweat, but also enables long-term performance and comfortable touch for the fingers.
Qin Lid Simulator, reproducing the sound effect when the Qin Lid is opened
When the height of the cover of the grand piano is different, the volume and quality of the sound will change. The piano cover simulator reproduces the acoustic characteristics of the grand piano, adding more pleasure to the performance of digital pianos. The acoustic effect of opening or closing the piano cover is accurately simulated. According to your preferences, you can choose the level of piano cover lifting and lowering to find the desired piano tone effect.
*The setting value of the piano cover simulator will not change due to the opening or closing of the digital piano cover.
Berlin Grand Sound
The Berlin Grand sound was developed in collaboration with the prestigious piano manufacturer C. Bechstein. Renowned for its rich history, C. Bechstein was founded in Berlin in 1853 by Carl Bechstein. Even the legendary composer Claude Debussy once stated, “Piano music should only be written for the Bechstein.” Building on this legacy, Casio partnered with C. Bechstein to create the “Berlin Grand” tone—a balanced and elegant sound with a clearly defined shape. The tone is based on an analysis of the tonal characteristics of the C. Bechstein D282, a masterpiece of piano craftsmanship. This exquisite sound, approved by C. Bechstein’s master piano maker Werner Albrecht, is featured in the CELVIANO AP-710 as the “Berlin Grand.”
Keyboard System
Natural Playing Feel Close to a Grand Piano
The Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II offers a playing experience that closely mimics that of a grand piano. Unlike digital pianos, which often have a delay between key press and sound, this keyboard uses a three-sensor system to detect and respond to key touches sequentially, capturing the unique timing and nuances of a grand piano.
Simulated Ebony and Ivory Keys for a Luxurious Feel
The simulated ebony and ivory keys provide a refined texture and smooth touch, similar to that of a grand piano. Their detailed crimp surface finish prevents finger slippage caused by sweat, ensuring a comfortable and secure fingertip fit, even during extended playing sessions.
Lid Simulator: Recreating the Acoustic Effects of an Open Lid
The sound of a grand piano changes based on whether the lid is raised or lowered. The Lid Simulator replicates these acoustic effects in the digital piano, allowing you to choose the exact sound you want by adjusting the virtual lid position. This feature provides a more immersive playing experience, giving you the flexibility to achieve the perfect piano sound, regardless of the physical lid position on the instrument.
